Throughout my life, I have seen many people who I love to be affected by cancer in some way. I have seen whole families come together to fight alongside their loved ones. However, I have also seen the immense emotional and physical toll it takes on individuals and their families.
Therefore I ride for hope. I hope to inspire my family members and all the people I have meet on this journey through Texas4000 who still grieve the loss of loved ones, and I intend to spark hope things can get better.
I ride for Karin Bernhard; a woman who cared for everyone around her and left behind a family built on her love and care.
I ride for Margarida Greswell; a fellow cyclist and a woman who made everyone feel at home in her presence and filled the world with joy and leaves behind a lasting legacy through her amazing family.
I also ride for all those who I have meet through Texas 4000 and their loved ones who have been affected by cancer. I ride for:
While we have just started in our Texas 4000 journey I have already begun to learn so much about how much cancer affects everyone. In our meetings, I have heard my teammates describe time and time again how cancer flipped their lives upside down. Originally I joined Texas 4000 with the hope of increasing knowledge of mental health care within the cancer community. However, in the brief time since joining Texas 4000, I realized that knowledge comes in many forms. I have found that through the stories of my teammates, and the people I have meet through Texas 4000 I have learned more about how cancer truly affects individuals then I ever expected.
I welcome anyone who would like to share their story to please contact me and I would love to dedicate my ride to your story as well.
